CMSI provides access to a broad range of mass spectrometry and chromatography platforms for metabolomics, lipidomics, bioanalytical chemistry, method development and user-based analytical projects. The instrumentation includes high-resolution LC–MS systems, targeted LC–MS/MS platforms, GC–MS systems and complementary LC/UHPLC systems with optical and other detectors.
High-resolution LC–MS systems
CMSI has several high-resolution LC–MS platforms suitable for untargeted metabolomics, lipidomics, accurate mass determination, molecular profiling, method development and advanced user-based projects.
Waters UHPLC-IM-qTOF Synapt XS
A high-resolution qTOF system with ion mobility separation, suitable for advanced molecular profiling, metabolomics, lipidomics and structural characterization.
Waters UHPLC-cIM-qTOF
A cyclic ion mobility qTOF platform for high-resolution mass spectrometry and advanced separation of complex molecular mixtures.
2 x Waters SELECT SERIES MRT
High-resolution LC–MS platforms based on multi-reflecting time-of-flight technology, suitable for accurate mass measurements, untargeted molecular profiling and advanced analysis of complex samples.
Waters Xevo MRT
A high-resolution LC–MS platform suitable for accurate mass analysis, profiling of complex samples and method development.

LC and UHPLC systems
CMSI also has several LC and UHPLC systems with complementary detectors, including UV, PDA, RI and FLR detectors. These systems are used for a range of chromatographic applications, including quantification of small molecules, organic acids, alcohols, sugars and other compounds depending on method requirements.

Hamilton STAR liquid handling system
Automated liquid handling platform used to support sample preparation workflows and improve reproducibility in suitable analytical applications.
How to book the instruments
LabArchives Scheduler is used as the booking platform for instruments at CMSI. Access to Scheduler is provided by CMSI after relevant introductions and training.
